SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease and mould, or any other contaminants. Special precautions should be taken during the preparation of old paint surfaces, especially those painted before 1970, as they may contain harmful lead. Contaminated surfaces should be thoroughly washed down with sugar soap and then wiped with a clean, damp, lint free cloth. Mould should be treated with a fungicidal cleaner and then rinsed off. Remove imperfections, loose and flaking paint by sanding. All dry paint edges should be feathered off to a smooth finish. All cracks, nail holes and damaged areas should be filled with a suitable filler, allowed to dry, sanded off and cleaned to remove dust. We do not recommend powdered fillers. Spot prime surface fillers with a good quality, suitable primer. Treat knots in wood with a knotting solution. Ensure that plastic surfaces are cleaned and sanded. No primer is required when painting previously painted surfaces. For bare wood and MDF – apply one coat of William Yeoward Absolutely Matt or Matt (thinned by up to 25%). For bare plaster and plasterboard - apply one mist coat of William Yeoward Absolute Matt or Matt (thinned by up to 25%). For brick, concrete, metal & plastic – use a good quality, appropriate primer.

APPLICATION Stir contents well before use and, following instructions, apply two coats of any William Yeoward paint finish to surfaces prepared and primed as recommended. Apply at a consistent rate maintaining a wet edge and take care not to overwork. Paint application is not recommended where the surface and/or air temperature is less than 5ºC or higher than 30ºC. Use only high-quality synthetic brushes that are suitably sized for the job in hand. Ensure that brushes are sufficiently dry after washing out before use. Use only short napped synthetic rollers for the best result on smooth surfaces. For airless spray application, dilute paint by 25%.

CLEANING AND DISPOSAL All William Yeoward paints are water-based, 100% pure acrylic. All tools and equipment can be easily cleaned with fresh clean water and without detergents.
